Do I have to attend court ordered child support hearing?

I am the custodial parent, he hasn't seen my daughter in about 16 years. She is over 18. He only owes arrears and HE has requested this hearing to lower his monthly payments. I could care less how much he pays as long as he pays. I called the court office to see if I had to go and of course they won't say one way or the other, but everyone I ask that's been through similar things says it's not necessary. I want nothing to do with this deadbeat. And I have alot of trouble getting around as I am suffering from a serious illness. I don't want to get arrested or anything though! Anyone know for sure??
