How do i get me and my parents to let me listen to my own music?

my parents are really protective and are very christian. they expect me to listen to all these good songs. but i like songs that sound good naturally. which tend to be explicit music. how do i get them to understand that i want to listen to that stuff without being bratty about it? they make it alot bigger deal then it is. i just want to listen to music without being criticized and have to delete the bad songs off my ipod. its getting old
