Small wedding, big church... yay/nay?

My fiance and I want a small wedding (60 people max). We plan on booking a reception hall to fit this size. However, I'm completely in love with the idea of having the actual ceremony in a beautiful, albeit huge, cathedral which has sentimental value since that's the church we started going to together. Will the guests think that the huge church is too extravagant for a small wedding?
