People dont understand me !(scottish guy living in america )?

why is it americans think everyone fron scotland is irish and live in wee caves and run around in kilts up and down mountans playing the pipes? i have been asked on several occasions "wow man like what language is that ur speaking" whitch is often followed by "its english ya walloper" am fae glesga ya bawbag we brought english here its u numpties that canny use it properly" and the american usualy says "what? that was awesome say it again was that gaelic?? does anyone else have a similar problem or is it just fannybaws here? :)
