This is for ANYONE who is good with tracing relatives/ancestors.?

okay, so i am ethiopian on my mom's side and i have israeli blood far back. but on my dad's side i know i have ethiopian too but i am not sure what else because my father's side of the famliy looks a bit mixed with something european and i don't know my grandmother or grandfather's name..is there anyway i can trace my family back using just my father's name? My father came from a rural side of Ethiopia so it may be quite hard to trace his relatives. My mother came from a wealthy family so that is why I know all of her relatives. I also believe that we have some italian blood somewhere...i don't know if that is even possible but my family has resemblences to some italians..but i might just be wrong lol..so any advice !?
